My favorite Christmas gift by far is the new Florence Broadhurst monograph. Wow! Her biography is such a page turner, and her life truly was extraordinary. The patterns have recently been rereleased through Kate Spade, but I loved seeing the full archive in such a massive volume.

Lotus Bleu in Hayes Valley has a great mix of colors and patterns.

Although orange is no longer the Pantone color of the year, it is still my favorite hue. The displays at Lotus Bleu are organized by color, and I loved the shades of orange found in numerous patterns and textures.

Lotus Bleu was one of the first shops featured on BigBrightBold when I launched the site. (See posts here and here) I decided to revisit this color haven since I am back in town for the holidays. Every time I pop in, I always discover new patterns and designers. The owner definitely keeps things fresh, rotating the displays with new features and organizing them by fresh colors. This green and coral contrast was a pretty combination.
