EAMES: UNCOMMON BEAUTY

A stellar presentation honoring the Eames, this exhibit showcases the uncommon beauty of common things. The exhibit, running now until January 16 at the A+D Museum in Los Angeles is a bold narrative about the world renown Eames's. From the "House of Cards" to a tumbleweed, the exhibit weaves both famous and mundane artifacts into an intricate assemblage.

According to the museum, "Charles and Ray Eames inspired us to appreciate the world by honoring seemingly common things. This exhibit uses Eames words to focus on the lesser-known aspects of their lives, revealing their appreciation of the value of humble objects and useful tools. Their insights about the simple pleasures of daily life will be illustrated with objects and materials available during their lifetimes and contemporary examples from the world around us. From tumbleweed to strawberries, a bolt of cloth to a keg of nails, to elephants in India and the bread of Scandinavia, the whole world was their canvas."
