Coming across Lourdes Sanchez's work through West Elm, I am beyond inspired. This Cuban born artist and textile designer creates beautifully colorful watercolors, that seem effortlessly easy. The brush strokes are both crisp and bold, and I love her reinterpretation of animal prints through the fluid medium.

After a day of watercolor painting at the Huntington (where my creations have a long, long way to go!)
I revisited the work of one of my favorite textile artists, Lourdes Sanchez. Her painterly style makes it look so effortless! I love the layering of colors and textures, and the contrast between organic retro florals and geometric abstract expressions.
