Poufs, rugs, and donkeys! I love that on every narrow street in the medina, walls were hung with carpets and floors were piled with poufs. I especially like the "rag" rugs that are woven out of upcycled cotton strips: so colorful and textured.

Wandering through the colorful streets, I loved the pretty surprises. I would notice intricate detail and delicate beauty around every corner.

The walls were inlaid with hand chiseled tiles and the doors were hand painted with folk floral motifs. Every surface was abundantly decorated. I love it when more is more!

Marrakech – the name alone conjures up a 1001 images, exotic and mysterious. Called the Red City in reference to the predominant color of its mud-brick buildings, the medina is an incredible adventure to walk through and experience. Intoxicating, chaotic, beautiful, ancient, modern, overwhelming, intricate: I quickly run out of adjectives when trying to describe this feast for the senses. Inspiring, might be the best, as the city certainly has enticed numerous artists to discover its ornate beauty.
