FES: MOROCCAN MOSAICS

I just ordered my copy of Marrakech by Design and was smitten by the colorful photos. For anyone who wants to add Morocco's spicy design mix into their homes, these hand laid tile fountains can be shipped straight from Fes. Each tile is chiseled by hand, one at a time, and laid upside down to form the intricate pattern work! Watching the master craftsmen, I was beyond impressed with their creative designs, their attention to detail and especially their sharp memory.

MIXT STUDIO: GIVING, BEING, LIVING

I am super excited to share these inspired products from Mixt Studio. I had the pleasure of meeting Marcie, the freshly creative owner, at a recent design seminar. What a perfect idea and execution.

Marcie organizes the collections by "Giving, Being, and Living." From recycled gift wrap and reusable wine bags to upcycled party packs, all the products are manufactured in the United States with sustainable materials and methods. According to Marcie, the company is inspired by travel, textures, type and all things with a story. It certainly shows: the patterns are pretty, the production is earth friendly, and the products are clever.

MIXT STUDIO: SUMMER WELCOME

Although the official launch date is coming up May 20 at the National Stationery Store in New York City, Mixt Studio has already enchanted with their wit and whimsy. Several fresh new collections are available to order online or through their uplifting catalog.  

Imagined by Marcie Carson, a designer living in Hermosa Beach, CA, the casual beach lifestyle is reflective in the mix of fashionable, colorful products. The hand drawn patterns are uniquely refreshing, and the products include fun gift bands and clever onesies. Dedicated to selling and manufacturing with a sustainable conscience - good thoughts and good karma - the company is striving to practice what others preach. "Play everyday" seems to be the right mantra for the "eco-eclectic line of paper and gift goods that focuses on lifestyle and artistry." I'm already inspired!
