NOTNEUTRAL: AQUEOUS SOAP

Sometimes the best kind of Big, Bright and Bold objects are the ones I helped design! I am so excited to finally see the packaging I illustrated for the NotNeutral Soaps. The patterns are inspired by the natural scents, with cool colors matching the watery moods. Check out the full collection here.

SOUK SHOPPING

This weekend's Christmas festivities reminded me of our Marrakech Souk Shopping a few months ago. These ornaments and glowing lanters would be perfect at this time of year! I love the glittering gems.

COTTON & FLAX: WINTER WHITES

I am so happy I got the chance to meet Erin Dollar, the owner, maker, and designer behind Cotton & Flax. She was showcasing her limited edition textile goods, as well as fine art prints on paper, which had been made in her home studio in Los Angeles.

I found out that each step of the creation of Cotton & Flax textiles is completed by Erin, beginning with the pattern design and the selection of heirloom quality fabrics. According to her bio, "Erin draws each pattern by hand using brush and ink, and the drawing is later transferred to a silkscreen to create multiples on textiles. When it comes time to do the printing, Erin scours local sources to find the best linen and linen blend fabrics to hand print with her designs. She then carefully hand prints each piece of fabric with her original designs, which she later sews into pillows, teatowels, napkins, or coasters."

I love this collection of winter whites, where line and texture become the stars.

COTTON & FLAX: COLOR & FORM

I love the simple, geometric patterns in the home decor line of Cotton&Flax. According to Cotton&Flax, "The striking hand drawn patterns set Cotton & Flax textiles apart as a blending of fine art and fine craft. In using traditional methods to print each textile piece, Erin hopes to share her love of printmaking, and to promote greater public interest in owning unique, handmade home goods."
